Framed oil on canvas, bubblewrap 80 x 120 cm
Unique piece
A framed oil on canvas is presented on the floor, with its bubble wrap underneath, as if the work had just been unpacked and left in a transitional state.
The painting was realized from computer-generated drawings for a project conceived by architect François Roche, who won the competition to design what would have been Bangkok’s first museum of modern and contemporary art.
Through the direction of its presentation—somewhere between discarded, forgotten, and a chronic object of an announced death—Pratchaya Phinthong recalls the stakes of this failed project.
